Every Year Medicare premiums and costs keep rising this year is no different. In this short article, we will point out the increases. Also, we will point out why the “Center for Medicare and Medicaid” increased the premiums and what we can do about it?
As a Reminder Medicare Part A is: 1) Impatient Hospital Care; 2) Hospice: 3)Limited Home health care; 4) Short term skilled nursing facility. If you have Part A you will be required to pay a deductible before service start to be covered.
The deductible for Medicare Part A (hospital coverage) per benefit period (which generally starts when you are admitted to the hospital) will be $1,556 in 2022, up $72 from this year’s $1,484 this is a surprising increase.
Part B covers doctors and associate services such as: 1) Physical exams; 2) Xrays; 3) Blood work; 4) Mental Health Care and other benefits.
The basic premium for Part B, which covers outpatient care and durable equipment, will be $170.10 next year, up to $21.60 from $148.50 this year, according to a senior CMS official on Friday.
The bigger-than-anticipated increase is partly attributed to rising prices and utilization across the health care system and congressional action that limited the increase in the 2021 Part B premium.
Additionally, certain reserves have been increased to account for potential new treatment costs incurred by the program.
However, there are ways to protect yourself from these increases in price with either a Medicare supplement Plan or Medicare Part C known as a Medicare Advantage Plan.
Choosing a Medicare Advantage Plan Can be complex, convoluted, and outright confusing. At “YOURMEDICARE” by AYA and Associates, we will make this process clear simple, and understandable.
