What is medicare

We all know, that as some point in time we will need to answer the age ripe question of what Medicare is. This will happen when we turn 65 years of age or if we are disabled for more than 2 years.I often find when I speak with people about their Medicare benefits that they have extremely limited knowledge on what Medicare actual is and less information on how it works, and you cannot blame them because Medicare is complex, complicate and confusing. People who are aging in on Medicare and the ones that are already Medicare eligible just want is their benefits and learn asimple way to use them.

So, let’s start the journey on learning what Medicare is and hopefully I can make this process clear, simple, and understandable.

SO!!!!! The big question WHAT IS MEDICARE.

Medicare is Federal health insurance. That easy ????? I wish.

✓ It is Federal health Insurance designed for people who are 65 and older.

✓ Certain Younger People with disabilities.

✓ People with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) this is where people are diagnoses with permanent kidney failure and will require dialysis and even a transplant.

MEDICARE PARTS

Medicare or Original Medicare has several different parts, and these different parts provide and cover different Hospital, Medical and Prescriptions services.

Medicare Part A – Covers when a person must stay at the Hospital (inpatient services, when a person needs to received care in a skill nursing facility, Hospice care and some not all home health care.

Medicare Part B-Parts B covers service for the Doctors that accept Medicare not all Doctors do. Outpatient care, certain medical supplies and preventative service like exams Diabetes exams and more.

Medicare Part D – Part D helps pay for your prescription drugs which includes you yearly shots and vaccines.

This is the absolute basics and a good start to help you understand your Medicare and how it works.
